The Wall Garden

Here’s a brief video on how we set up our newest no dig garden on a south facing stone wall from the 1830’s. Long term the plan is to plant heat loving fruits such as figs, grapes and hardy kiwis along the wall. We planted corn, broccoli, broad beans, carrots, onion sets, rocket salad, radishes, potatoes and oca. It only took a total of a few hours a day for 2 weeks with the help of the neighbors tractor to move the compost. We used a lot of compost at the start, but it will take very little topping up in years to come. It’s about 17×4 meters, the beds are 80cm and the paths are 30cm so very easy to step over and to work with. More detailed videos and results are to follow!
