Useful Plants Series – Wild Leek (Ramps)

Allium tricoccum

It takes 7 years to grow into full sized plants. It only leafs out for 1 month of the year before trees do.
Looks like a blade of grass for the first 3 or 4 years.
Wild leeks are a species of wild onion and like very moist soil.

Collect leafs in spring and seeds in autumn.
