Useful Plants Series – Mallow 4 Different Kinds

Latin name: Malva Sylvestris

The Mallow flowers come in many forms and many colours. Great plant to have in any garden, attracts beneficial insects and it’s a good food source for pollinating insects. Flowers in white, pink, purple and even black. The Marshmallow is medicinal, the leaves contain mucilage which is great to sooth a dry throat and the root used to be made into marsh mallows, hence the name of the sweet. The wood mallow has the best edible salad leaves and all of the mallows require next to zero maintenance. Easily grown from seed or cuttings.
