Red currant berries have an intense sweet but tart flavour. Same as white currants, the berries grow in bundles which makes for quick and easy harvesting. All currants are versatile and can be used to make jams, cakes, cordials and even country wines. Harvests are regular and plentiful with zero maintenance, although you better keep an eye on the berries ripening because the birds do too.
