The elder is a well known hedgerow tree prized for it’s flowers in early summer and it’s berries in autumn, both ideal for making cordials, country wines, teas and cakes. Bare root trees are about 1foot / 30cm tall and 1 year old. Quick growing and reliable producer. The Birdland variety is from our own cottage gardens and bares particularly large clusters of flowers and berries.
