Portuguese kale is also known as walking stick kale. It’s perennial, meaning it will continue to grow delicious leaves year after year. These can be harvested fresh any time of the year including winter which gives it a very flexible harvest window without the need to preserve them. It’s a delicate flavor similar to cabbage without having to wait for a head to form and the large leaves make it easy to cook with. We’ve been growing it for 4 years now and it’s our favorite kale! We even put up a recipe for Portuguese kale soup. (link below)
