Beautiful and vigorous Irish wild flower with edible rhizome roots of a starchy nutty flavour similar to Chinese artichokes raw or cooked. Excellent forage source for bees and other pollinators. As it’s name suggests in times gone by, marsh woundwort was used to clot the flow of blood. It belongs to the mint family, hence it spreads underground by means of rhizomes or roots so plant it in a corner of the garden. Rhizomes are about 5cm long and freshly picked when ordered. The latin name of this plant is Stachys palustris.
